Welcome Inductees! We are looking forward to discussing math with you! Best wishes, seniors, as you move on to college and the world beyond! I have enjoyed our time together! You will be missed! Thank you, officers and executive board, for the numerous ways you led our members, potential members, and activities! Sarisha, thanks for being so dedicated and organized! Who’s next? We are looking for a few good men and women to step forward and lead afterschool, Minuteman Time, and RMS activities for next year. The planning starts in June.

Summary of RHS Competition Mathematics Performance in the 2020-21 School Year
Ohio Math League (OML)
For the third year in a row, Revere placed first in Ohio. Juniors Rohit Dasanoor and Drake Du placed first in the state, and Will Krew placed 12th. Seniors Kaitlyn Borcherding and Joshua Johns tied for 22nd in Ohio, followed by Tyra Shin and Lance Choi placing 35th. Sophomore Philip Liu placed 25th. Freshman Neal Pannala placed 25th in Ohio as well. Seniors Abhay Adury and Bella Pignatoro and junior Sam Bockstoce also contributed to Revere’s state championship.
American Scholastics Mathematics Competition (ASMA)
In the ASMA Contest, Revere placed 16th internationally, 12th nationally, and 1st statewide after the first 5 contests. Rohit and Drake tied for 1st statewide, nationally, and internationally with perfect scores on every contest. Other top placers (in order) included Will Krew, Neal Pannala, Sam Bockstoce, Abhay Adury, Sarisha Mahajan, Kaitlyn Borcherding, Alex Summerville, Josh Johns, Tyra Shin, Lance Choi, Wesley Leong, Kiran Ravichandran, and Jenny Fan. The top freshman was Neal Pannala. The top sophomore was Wesley Leong. The top senior was Abhay Adury. Congratulations!!
Purple Comet
For the Purple Comet Contest, the team of Rohit, Will, Drake, Lance, Josh, and Abhay was 1st place for Revere and 1st in Ohio out of 16 teams. They were 14th in the U.S. out of 288 teams and 21st in the world out of 887 teams. The team of Alex S, Camden, and Claire was 2nd place for Revere and 6th place in Ohio.
Rocket City Math League Team Contest - December 17
Revere competed as one large team to answer 15 questions in 30 minutes. Revere earned a perfect score!
Rocket City Math League Individual 3-4-5 Contest
Students formed teams of up to three students to solve four rounds of 5 problems. In the Discovery division, Abhay, Will, and Rohit placed first, and the team of Josh, Lance, and Drake placed second. In the Apollo division, Daniel Choi and Kishan Mendpara placed first, narrowly defeating the second place team of Alex Ramos, Anant Adury, and Rohan Dasanoor.
Math Madness
In the six individual online contests for Math Madness, Revere placed 53rd in the country! Also, Rohit Dasanoor (140th), Drake Du (180th),Will Krew (264th), and Lance Choi (522nd) were all among the top 20% of students in the country! Other top scorers from Revere were Tyra Shin, Philip Liu, Joshua Johns, Zach Meixner, Neal Pannala, Kaitlyn Borcherding, Nick Guilda, Sarisha Mahajan, Abhay Adury, Sam Bockstoce, Akshay Elango, Camden Schmidt, Wesley Leong, Sanchita Chandran, Kiran Ravichandran, Camryn Bir, and Owen Desberg. Camryn Bir was the top 8th grader, Neal Pannala was our top freshman, Philip Liu was our top sophomore, Rohit Dasanoor was the top junior, and Lance Choi was the top senior!
Rocket City Math League Individual Contest
After three contests, the top three scorers were Rohit, Drake, and Will in that order. The top senior, freshman, and sophomore were Alex Summerville, Neal Pannala, and Wesley Leong, respectively. National rankings have not been released.
TrigStar 2021
In order of finishing place, the Trig Star participants included Rohit Dasanoor, Drake Du, Will Krew, Abhay Adury, Wesley Leong, Neal Pannala, Jackson Campbell, Aaron Stalnaker, Devin Donich, Kiran Ravichandran, Sarisha Mahajan, Sanchita Chandran, Nathan Cronin, and Isha Bansal. Congratulations to Rohit for placing first and Drake for placing fourth in the state. Both obtained perfect scores and received cash prizes! Rohit will also be competing at the national level!
Log1
In this year’s Log1 contest, students had 30 minutes to solve 15 questions based upon their current math class. Rohit placed 7th and Drake finished 39th in the Mu (Calculus) division. Wesley and Kiran also participated.
Ohio Highschool Mathematics Invitational Olympiad (OHMIO) - November 7
Six Revere students qualified for the 2020 OHMIO by scoring well on the 2020 OCTM contest. About 100 of the top math students in Ohio were invited to the OHMIO. Due to COVID-19, the March OHMIO was moved to November. Competing online for Revere were Lance, Sarisha, Abhay, Will, Drake, and Rohit. Rohit placed first and Drake placed fifth in the individual round! Rohit received 1st place overall and Drake received 7th place overall! Congratulations!
American Mathematics Competition
The top finishers for the AMC 10A were Neal Pannala (tie), Camryn Bir (tie), and Wesley Leong. The top finishers for the AMC 10B were Philip Liu, Rohan Dasanoor, and Zach Iler. The top finishers for the AMC 12A were Rohit, Drake, and Will. The top finishers for the AMC 12B were Drake (tie), Rohit (tie), and Will. The top 8th grader was Camryn Bir. The top freshman was Neal Pannala. The top sophomore was Philip Liu. The top senior was Lance Choi. Lance Choi, Rohit Dasanoor, Drake Du, and Will Krew earned high enough scores on both the A and B contests (top 5% nationwide) to qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME)!
American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME)
Lance Choi, Rohit Dasanoor, Drake Du, and Will Krew all competed in this 3 hour long, 15 question math competition. Lance Choi earned a score of 4, which gave him an index score of 134.5 (combined AMC and AIME score). Will Krew also earned a score of 4, which gave him an index score of 142. Drake Du earned a score of 5, which gave him an index score of 158. Rohit Dasanoor earned a score of 9, which gave him an index score of 217.5, which was close to the cut-off for the USAMO.
MathCON
Revere had 11 finalists and 2 alternates, who placed in the top 10% or so for all students in their grades.. Finalists include Andy Long, Neal Pannala, Sam Bockstoce, Jackson Campbell, Drake Du, Will Krew, Rohit Dasanoor, Abhay Adury, Kaitlyn Borcherding, Josh Johns, and Alex Summerville. The alternates are Rishi Velma and Sarisha Mahajan. The top freshman was Neal Pannala. The top sophomore was Rishi Velma. The top junior was Rohit Dasanoor. The top senior was Kaitlyn Borcherding. Congratulations!
MathCON Finals - May 6-8
After a 32-question, 100-minute contest, Rohit Dasanoor received a gold medal, Drake Du received a silver medal, Will Krew and Neal Pannala received bronze medals, and Kaitlyn Borcherding was Honorable Mention. Other participants include Sam Bockstoce, Alex Summerville, Jackson Campbell, Josh Johns, and Rishi Velma. Congratulations to Revere for placing 1st out of all high schools nationally!
Mathleague.org Contest - March 4
In the relay round, the group of Will Krew, Kiran Ravichandran, and Zach Iler placed first; the group of Wesley Leong, Nnemdi Amanambu, and Isha Bansal placed second. In the team round, all six of these students together placed 1st with 60 points. In the power round, Lance Choi, Drake Du, Will Krew, and Rohit Dasanoor placed 1st with 50 points. In the sprint round, Will Krew, Drake Du, Zach Iler, Wesley Leong, Nnemdi Amanambu, Kiran Ravichandran, Isha Bansal, and Aaron Stalnaker placed 1st through 8th, respectively. In the target round, Drake Du, Zach Iler, Will Krew, Kiran Ravichandran, Wesley Leong, Nnemdi Amanambu, and Isha Bansal placed 1st through 7th, respectively. Individually, Drake Du, Will Krew, Zach Iler, Wesley Leong, Kiran Ravichandran, Nnemdi Amanambu, Isha Bansal, and Aaron Stalnaker placed 1st through 8th, respectively. Zach Iler was the top freshman, Wesley Leong was the top sophomore, Drake Du was the top junior, and Kiran Ravichandran was the top senior! Zach Iler, Wesley Leong, Nnemdi Amanambu, Isha Bansal, Rohit Dasanoor, Drake Du, Will Krew, Lance Choi, and Kiran Ravichandran qualified to the Mathleague.org State tournament.
Mathleague.org State Finals and Nationals - April 17 & May 1
For the April 17 Ohio Mathleague.org Championship, Rohit Dasanoor placed first in the relay round while Kiran Ravichandran was second. In both the team and power rounds, the team of Rohit Dasanoor and Kiran Ravichandran placed first. In both the sprint and target rounds, Rohit Dasanoor, Will Krew, and Kiran Ravichandran were first, second, and third, respectively. Individually, Rohit placed first, Will placed second, and Kiran placed third. Rohit was the top junior and Kiran was the top senior! In the May 1 makeup tournament, Drake Du was the highest among the juniors in all states that had participants in both the sprint and target rounds! Individually, Drake was also the top junior among these states on May 1! Congratulations to Rohit, Drake, Will, and Kiran for qualifying to the Mathleague.org National Championship on June 12!

Mathleague.org Nationals - June 2020
In the national contest on June 13, 2020, Revere finished 12th overall in the nation out of 75 teams. Will, Rohit, and Drake were ranked 5th, 7th, and 24th for all sophomores in the U.S. Thomas was 24th among all seniors in the U.S. Individually, Will, Rohit, and Drake placed 23rd, 23rd, and 81st overall in the country. Rohit finished first overall in the target round. Will placed 5th overall in the sprint round and was the top sophomore in that contest round. The team of Will and Drake and the team of Rohit and Joshua tied for 23rd overall out of 126 teams in the relay round.
