Revere High School Counselor Receives National Youth Mental Health Champion Award

RICHFIELD, Ohio – Revere Local Schools is proud to announce that Revere High School School Counselor Emily Rion has been recognized nationally as the 2026 Youth Mental Health Champion Award recipient by Active Minds-National Chapter.

Rion received the award during the Active Minds Hill Day & Mental Health Conference on July 16, 2026, in Washington, D.C. The annual award recognizes a school staff member, administrator, or adult supporter who is paving the way for youth-led mental health advocacy, policy change, and opportunities that empower young people.

"I am so excited and honored to represent Revere and our community," said Rion. "I am incredibly honored to work with all students, but especially the ones in our Revere and local communities."

Rion attended the national conference with her family, where she was recognized alongside mental health advocates from across the country. The event featured keynote presentations, youth advocacy initiatives, and an awards ceremony celebrating individuals dedicated to improving mental health awareness and support for young people. During the ceremony, Rion was also featured in a video highlighting her work and impact.  The video may be found here: https://youtu.be/bDD_8bk-QXc?si=vWM3ElwpQz0gj6LQ

Throughout her career at Revere High School, Rion has been a dedicated advocate for student wellness, helping foster a school culture where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. Her work has focused on expanding conversations around mental health, reducing stigma, connecting students with resources, and encouraging them to seek help when needed.

The national recognition reflects Rion's unwavering commitment to supporting the social-emotional well-being of students and creating meaningful opportunities for young people to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Active Minds is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming mental health norms for young people through peer-to-peer dialogue, education, and advocacy.

Revere Local Schools congratulates Emily on this well-deserved national honor and thanks her for the lasting impact she continues to make on the lives of students and families throughout the Revere community to ensure that Every Student Thrives.
